Hannah Harpole, founder of Makara Studio, is interested in how the physical act of creating space between the joints, muscle, tendons, ligaments, cells and blood of our bodies results in space within our thinking. She is dedicated to the Ashtanga and B.K.S Iyengar lineage, and her classes are physically rigorous.
Hannah recently traveled in India where she was honored to study in Mysore with Sharath and be part of creating a garden at Odanadi, an orphanage and shelter for people who have been trafficked. She also studied in Rishikesh with Usha, and in Dharamkot at the Himalayan Iyengar Institute, and was taught traditional Tibetan Meditation by Sonam, a Monk of the Dalai Lama’s family. Hannah has an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Dance, with an interest in the evolution of movement, and Masters Degree in Education. She also creates performances and films, cooks vegetarian food and is a DONA-trained Doula.
Start the day by focusing your mind and connecting with your body. This class is open to students of all levels, and will help strengthen the inner body and help release stress. Please bring your own yoga mat, as only a limited number will be available for use.
